Year 2 have been learning all about Super Sculptures this week. They have looked at work by different sculptors such as Henry Moore, Anthony Gormley and Barbara Hepworth and have created 'Super Sculptures@ of their own.
Year 2 have had a very busy week making lots of things for Art Week around the theme, 'Caterpillars'. They have made grass caterpillars, sock caterpillars and decorated their own caterpillar with lots of patterns.
Year 2 have had a great week so far. We started Health Week off with some street dance followed by some team building activities. We have learnt all about washing our hands and have written letters to Dirty Bertie about how he can be more hygienic. On Tuesday we enjoyed playing tennis and played on the inflatable before relaxing with some mindfulcolouring.
Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed spending the week learning all about Ireland. We located Ireland and looked at its famous landmarks. We have read about St Patrick and explored Irish traditions such as Celtic artwork and Irish dancing.
Year 2 enjoyed finding out about how a restaurant works and made their own pizzas at Pizza Express, Headingley.

We enjoyed doing dinosaur art!
We used our our body measurements to work out how big the dinosaurs were that visited our school.
Year 2 had a fantastic time exploring dinosaurs through the curriculum. We explored how big the dinosaurs were, researched dinosaur facts, made our our dinosaurs out of pasta, cotton buds and balloons and wrote newspaper reports about the dinosaur invasion at school.
Year 2 have re-enacted the events of Holy Week including Palm Sunday, The Last Supper and Good Friday.
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed watching their model of the Great Fire of London go up in smoke!
